Help with an Amazon Marketplace seller please

Options
Hope someone can advise me if I'm doing the right thing here, I've read quite a bit and think so but know there's people on here with much more experience than I have.

I bought 3 items (Acti Patch) from Amazon Marketplace on Tuesday (seller Chemist4-U/Innox Trading.) When they arrived immediately thought, these don't seem like the ones I usually buy, they were unsealed for a start but on further inspection the 720 hours time they were advertised to last were stickers they had put on themselves (the actual box said 168 and on a few places) All covered over by stickers.

Read the most recent reviews and the top one stated, hey this was meant to last 720 hours and stopped working after a week, with a reply re Chemist4-U so contacted them to ask what was going on. They replied yes it was a manufacturing error on the box but I had to trust them even though it was unsealed and the box had handmade stickers over it, I was to trust them, these were as their homemade stickers said and indeed 720 hours.

I wasn't convinced so tried to start a return but couldn't as their return page stated This item isn't eligible for return

For safety reasons, items containing flammable liquids or gases can’t be returned to Amazon. For more information or help, please contact us.

I'm not sure it contains either so back I went asking for the return to the seller, they said no end of. Contacted Amazon with details, pictures of the stickers coming off and stated I wanted to return these as they weren't as described (no mention then or still in their listing of the fact they were unsealed or the handmade stickers over the manufacturers box) They told me they'd be able to open an A-Z guarantee case on July 23rd.

All fine and now comes my question! This morning the seller has emailed me (through Amazon) stating thanks for your recent query, please follow this link to get a pre paid label for your return (and link looks fine, goes to RM) My question is am I ok to use this, because as the seller still states on my order history that this item can't be returned, will they be linked?

I did want to return and I am happy with the pre paid label, I'm just concerned that after returning my Amazon account order will still look like no returns accepted so although I will have a proof of postage, will that be enough?

If you managed to read all this and have any advice, thank you!

I don't think it matters too much whether you return it or not. The seller has been contacted by Amazon to sort it out prior to an AtoZ claim being forced through. The last thing a seller on Amazon wants is an AtoZ claim, especially if they've had any other problems.

So if there's no problem from Royal Mail accepting the items then send them back with proof of postage. Send the proof to Amazon and you should get a fairly instant refund.
