We lodged a claim with ideal standard , we where the installers/suppliers of the suite and due to other issues we where paid £3500 plus to remove and refit a replacement

If the bath has delaminated you should feel the bath bounce under foot, will be springy . The baths we had started around the plug hole then gradually spread to the full base

Thank you all for you extremely helpful replies. I took a shower last night/this morning and just now- had the temp a tad lower (I like super hot showers!) And so far no creak...

Will keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

    Thanks guys

Anyone noticed that bath feet have screw holes in them? (Plumbers are usually too idle to put screws in them, as it is a bit of a swine to do.)

I did a friend's bath ten years ago. This was the cheapest bath suite in Focus. We screwed 2x3 timbers across the floor where the feet are, into joists below. Then put the bath in place, leveled up, and marked screw holes. Finally, unscrewed the feet from the bath, and screwed into place in the holes. Bath was then dropped onto studding above foot, and nuts tightened. It's still solid as a rock now.

I was there when he took the panel off. The feet on this bath and the plate bit that attaches to the bath itself is fairly wide. He tightened it although nothing happened as it was already very tight.. He was then tugging at it to see if there was any movement and there wad literally nothing. The whole metal structure of the feet etc seemed solid. I asked re wood structure/batons but he advised there is no point as the structure of the bath itself is solid..

Will see how it goes I guess!

I occasionally had exactly this with mine before I redid the silicone. There'll always be a bit of movement with a "plastic" bath even if all of the the feet are secured and level. It'll be just the edge of the bath rubbing against the wall or underside of the tiles at one end.

Really? Any sealent applied wont last long in that case
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
