It's not paypal he should be taking to court, it's the dude who stole his bitcoin.
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

I dont think anyone is suggesting the OP take paypal to court. They are talking about Paypal talking HIM to court.

Bitcoin trades are regulated and there are 100's of ways to safely trade them, for both buyers and sellers. Generic paypal transfer is not.

    For untraceable bitcoins
    What could possibly go wrong?

Anyone can download and look at every bitcoin transaction that has ever happened so they aren't untraceable.

While all balances and transactions are publicly available, it's very difficult (usually impossible) to prove that a bitcoin address belongs to a particular person.

It sounds like someone's fraudulently used someone else's card to scam you I'm afraid.. Nothing Paypal or you can do to dispute the reversal in this case.

You should have insisted on a bank transfer for such a large amount as they can't be reversed.

Unless it's a fraudulent transaction from a stolen account.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
