What seems particularly unfair in a case like mine is that I have at present, been made homeless and my home and a lot of my stuff, nice stuff, wrecked through no fault of mine. And because my neighbours were hoarders on a huge scale, it is taking weeks to empty their house - which is roofless - and top floor unsafe next door and no tin hat yet over both, and of course it keeps raining. The roofer has done what he can but their fire has wrecked the new roof I had put on a year ago.

Ok the house can be mended eventually but meanwhile it is uninhabitable and will be for some time and I have no where to live at present and the strain of sorting out the mitigation eg rounding up builders to make temporary repairs etc and no compensation for the strain on my health (I was supposed to be having an operation a few days after the fire which I have had to postpone ,- nowhere to recuperate-) and agencies have yet to find me a reasonably priced house to rent as local agents all want high rents and min one year guaranteed rent. My sister says I should sue neighbours or their sons who left them without care when their carer went on holiday, but they are very old and confused and estranged from their sons. Where do you start. ?

Why is your insurer not providing temporary accomodation? Now that they accepted your claim?

Do you have no friends of family you could stay with?
Would your sister not have let you stay at hers to recuperate?

Am camping out with son while insurers try to find us nearby modest 3 bed house ,,(mine is large 4 bed) need some space to store belongings as house cannot be restored without moving stuff out and into temp accom with us is best option. Currently virtually no 3 bed rentals around us and those that are are ,v expensive and min 12 months rental. I am having no luck nor are insurers.
