I want to change providers...but I have no phone line!

Basically what it says on the tin....I've been with Virgin since I moved in on a fibre only contract, and to be honest it's been fine. It's fast, and it never drops.
However they continually put their prices up and it's about to go up by £3.50 a month, which is massive and will being my bill up to nearly £40, just for internet! It's not affordable so I am looking to change providers (or haggle Virgin down, whichever works.)
However...my flat does not have a phone line - it doesn't even have an input socket.I have tried a google search to see if I would be charged for a phone line installation but I can't find anything clear or concrete....it would also be pretty annoying as whoever I go with I won't be using the phone line and would want fibre broadband anyway - but I know Virgin are the only network who do fibre only.
Does anyone have any advice, and can anyone let me know if i'll likely be charged to have a line and phone point installed?
I did have a look and Plusnet, for example seem to detect I don't have a phone line and will change an installation fee, but does this include things like the phone point?
Thank you!

Virgin aren't the only provider who provides true fibre (ie FTTH) and in fact most of their network is not FTTH, its a hybrid with copper co-ax to the premises.
If you order a new line from Plusnet, it will include providing a socket if the property doesn't have one0 -
Have you tried broadbandchoices.co.uk/Compare_Fibre/Deals0

Sorry, I don't think I explained evry well...I know other providers have fibre broadband, but I believe Virgin are the only one who do it without a phone line.
Oh, so if I opened a new package with plusnet, they'd cover the installation of sockets and connect anything that needs connecting? This is really great to know, thank you!0 -
Is not a VM no phone line contract the same price ??
2018 a phone line should be renamed a data line save the confusion .0 -
How it appears on the bill is irrelevant, it's the total cost that matters. VM also include a line rental element, but they don't split it out.
There is at least one ISP using the Openreach infrastructure that provides broadband without a traditional voice service (so no dial tone), but they still charge you line rental to reflect the wholesale cost to them of the "metallic path facility".Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
I'd stick with Virgin if i was you
You'll likely need to pay some kind of fee to have a phone line installed and when the line is installed by the time you're paying line rental and broadband the price isn't that much cheaper. All your base are belong to us.0
