Yes, if you enquire, and they find you had PPI, they'll investigate.

Sorry, just to be clear, by investigate you mean raise the complaint and follow it through paying back any owed money without any further interaction on my behalf?

And if that is the case, does that mean that all I need to do is the "check ppi" form and regardless of the result I don't need to pursue it or fill in claim forms? TIA
If you want to sure of a refund, you need to inform the Bank exactly how the PPI was mis-sold to you. If you fill no forms in, you would be allowing the Bank to "investigate" but have given them no indication of any wrong doing...

But what about all of this "June 30th" and hang on I have the tab open still.... no I don't but here, I know it's the Sun but it has the points https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/9416326/banks-submit-ppi-complaints-thousands/

"But now, while you still need to submit an initial check to see if you had PPI, if the provider finds a policy in your name it'll automatically convert it to a complaint for you.

The new process came into effect on Sunday (June 30), just two months before the August 29 deadline for complaining about PPI."

You still need to tell them your complaint reason(s).

We also had a business loan, we believe it was in the business name but with personal (directors) guarantees (our house). We have since sold the business but - if there was PPI - do we or the present company get the refund?

The original company that had the business loan would get any redress.

1 - you cannot raise a complaint as you hold no authority
2 - any redress on a successful complaint goes to the company. Not you.

Thank you for reply, there is no point in our even considering looking at this then.
