Rent a Room Scheme - mobile home

I live in a small bungalow but have a large mobile home as well. I have a friend who is currently living in it but sharing facilities in the house with me i.e. shower, washing machine and kitchen. She is planning on leaving to go abroad soon so I was thinking that maybe I could rent it out on the rent a room scheme. There is a toilet in the mobile home and a small kitchen but my friend has always used the facilities in my house. Any prospective tenant would have to do the same of course. The Council have inspected a couple of years ago when my friend first came to visit (I have a difficult neighbour who reported me to the Council) and they were happy. I just wondered if things would change if the Council knew I was renting it out and insist that I turn the water in there off. Thoughts please before I ring the Council to discuss it.

I'm not sure the rent a room scheme would apply, but I also don't see why you couldn't let it out as is.
It will still have all the facilities necessary presumably?0 -

Rent less than £625/mo? If not, rent a room won't apply0

Yes it would be less than that.0 -

I don’t see why you’d need either of those - not a permanent structure and use is still residential0 -
Think you would be hard pushed to argue you would be renting a room in your house.....you clearly aren't.0

For what?
I really don't see what the council has to do with this- maybe G_M or another poster will elaborate0 -
As I understand it if I rented the mobile home out as a separate unit for money I would have to get planning permission for change of use. It is also in an area of ONB which apparently makes it harder. That's why the mobile home has to be ancillary accommodation - overspill accommodation? This is what the Council told me.0

AONB's definitely have tenanted properties
The use is still for a residential purpose.
If you were doing holiday lets I can understand that, because that is considered a ratable business.
Anyway i'll bow out, hopefully someone can provide a link or something0
