Sorry for the delay in replying here as we are all on various hols.

That defence is much better and I presume you have now filed it and that it had paragraph numbers in the signed version you emailed to the CCBC?

Yes it's been filed, and yes I used numbers.

Im now filling in the directions questionnaire

I'm unsure about the witness bit, I have a friend to write a witness statement who I was with at the time but she won't be able to actually attend on the day due to living miles away. So should I add her or not?

Add a number for possible witnesses attending, it's only so they know how many people there might be, no problem if it's less, same as a restaurant

It's not mandatory to attend, but they don't want 20 turning up in a small room that holds 10

I believe you only add witnesses that are actually attending.

    OK thanks.

Should I opt to use their mediation service to settle out of court?

I would prefer not to actually have to go but the more I think about it the more angry i get. But is it better for me to come to an agreement?

Mediation is not normally recommended for parking issues. You could proceed with defence and witness statement stages and then inform the court that you will not be attending but would like the case heard "on papers" again something that is not recommended due to you not being able to defend yourself against the PPC who will no doubt turn up and skew the case in their favour.

    Mediation is not recommended
Youll likely be rpessured to pay around 80%+ of the amount, by being told you have no hope of success.
The mediator gets KPI'd on settling lcaims before court.

As you might expect, that question is answered in post #2 of the NEWBIES thread.

Are you not following that guidance?

All of this (including your earlier Q about mediation) is answered already by bargepole in his post about Court Procedures, please read it again. It's linked under the red heading in the NEWBIES thread, cunningly called IMPORTANT - KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN.
