Sale fell through - house builder unreasonable?

    I've never come across as callous a bunch of individuals as the people on these boards, lol. All I can say is, don't come here for sympathy! You guys would give Scrooge a run for his money.

    It isn't a question of being happy or unhappy. It's a question of accepting that the other party to a contract, freely entered into, is exercising their rights under that contract.

    They aren't being unreasonable they are being business like.

    I sympathise but I can't say you are being hard done by.

    You surely didn't come here for sympathy? This is a place for (mostly) impartial advice.

    What you are perceiving as callous is realism.

    The builder needs to sell to maintain cashflow. They probably get the 'another couple of weeks story' all the time.

    Yeah, and I considered that that impartial advice might include things such as "builders often allow a week or two's grace period in these circumstances" which I've heard from a couple of other people I've talked to. Instead I've had people implying that I'm the one who's being unreasonable for simply asking a question, and that I'm posting a "rant to diss the builder" which is far from what I've done.

    Were you going to go back to Strata and say 'These chaps on the internet and 'some people' I've spoken to reckon builders give a few weeks grace'?

    I'm just going to comment on how you people come across. You do not come across as giving impartial advice. You come across as smug and superior, pointing barbs any time you don't think the original question has a legal right to money back (even though I never implied I did).

    You could've just been polite but virtually every response I've gotten has been passive-aggressive insulting as if I'm trying to be an a**hole. I was merely asking a question. Whatever.

    That it probably wouldn't be possible.

    And no, I don't need another response from you along the lines of "so why did you come to us asking the question". If that's all you have, don't bother.

    I did say above that I sympathised with you. It's a very frustrating and annoying state of affairs.

    I'm sorry you didn't get the answer you wanted from either the builders or from the people who answered you here.
