We haven't told people to ignore PCNs since 2013, a full six years ago.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Martin sold this site some years ago. This forum has NEVER advised anyone to ignore court papers, in fact posters often say "ignore debt collectors but NEVER ignore real court papers."

If no payment is received in 30 days I imagine they'll send down a sheriff. I don't even own my car so they couldn't take that, and the house I live in is not mine, but it's my registered address on my license so does that mean they could come in even though it's not my land or property?
You won't get bailiffs knocking at your door just yet. But continue to ignore it and you will, and the bill will be eyewatering by then.

If you accept that there is no recourse to take it back to court, e.g. a set aside (which seems the case, as there's no valid reason you didn't respond to the Claim), then paying within 28 days is very much the recommended option. It's not just bailiffs you want to avoid, but the effect on your credit rating. It can affect things as "trivial" as getting a mobile phone contract or having your utilities paid on monthly direct debit (cheaper than the other options).
