Judgement for claim

Hi. I received a judgement for claim (from the county court business centre in Northampton) after ignoring UK car park management who went and got Gladstones solicitors.

Should I pay this? I feel like these crooks are getting away with murder because they must send these out to dozens of people a month and this is how they make their money. They know people wont take them to court immediately and will usually ignore them so they have a very clever dirty way of making money as they try scare most people.

If no payment is received in 30 days I imagine they'll send down a sheriff. I don't even own my car so they couldn't take that, and the house I live in is not mine, but it's my registered address on my license so does that mean they could come in even though it's not my land or property?

In retrospect maybe I should have taken them to court early or got in their faces sooner for charging an extortionate amount of money for just parking in a space which doesn't equate in the slightest amount and all the other 'law' related things that could be said.

I'm not adept in law so I would appreciate any advice. I have a feeling I might have to suck this one up and wish the worst things on UK car parking and Gladstones.

I don't want to be a fool and just a lackey for a random company to try and pick money out off.

Did you receive the court papers? If you received them and ignored them then you need to pay.

Make sure you can evidence the fact you've paid as the court will want proof.

For all I know they could fake those papers and get you into paying, which is why I didn't respond to it

Oh dear. Ignoring a court claim is the daftest thing we see here (luckily rare).

You lost by default and have no grounds to set it aside.

You have mucked this up and must pay IN FULL (not in instalments) to avoid a CCJ.
    UK car parking and Gladstones.
You could have easily defended that, by copying what we do here. We win 99% of cases.

    Too late now.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Not paying when you have lost a court case will cause you all sorts of problems.
Court appointed bailiffs, CCJ, inability to get credit to name but a few.

You mention Sheriffs. Are you in Scotland where this would have been easier for the keeper to deal with?

You could've checked authenticity quite easily by googling "County Court Business Centre" and phoning them for confirmation.

Rather expensive burying your head in the sand.
