Paying a family member by credit card- is it possible?

I've got the chance of getting back to work (interview tomorrow) after a long period of illness but the job requires a car (as do the better options in my area).
A family member has offered me her car as they don't really need two. It seems a fair deal and a good motor. It's £2800. Which is about/less than I'd be paying at a reputable garage here. A personal loan isn't an option until I'm established in the job.
I have £1500 in savings but I'll have rent/council tax/living to factor in before the first pay so what I want to do is pay my family member £2000 by credit card (I have a £2600 limit). I'm aiming to pay it all off in 6 -9 months so I'm rid of it. I normally just use it for small internet purchases and pay it off in full each month.
How do I physically go about using it to pay her? I'm a luddite- I don't use internet banking - I know!

You cant, simple as that.
Would the family member accept monthly payments.
Go into your bank, get them to set up a direct debitmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
One possibility might be to apply for a money transfer card and transfer the money to your bank account.
i have never used one myself others might know the pros and cons0 -
If you’re willing to pay the fee and interest, yes you can0

Get her to list the car on eBay as buy-it-now with the best offer. Buy it and pay by credit card. There will be a fee (for the seller), which I believe is up to £50.0 -
Oooh, so which is it? Can I or can't I? I realise it's not the cheapest way to do it but I'm stuck if I can't.0

Paypal could be an option, but the charge quite a bit of fee.
You don't have to put it on ebay!0 -

The post that says you can is, I assume, referring to a money transfer card.

I thought you could use a credit card to pay someone directly through paypal?
For the purpose of this thread id say that cash withdrawals or money transfer would be under the pay by credit card header. OP seems to have made it clear that cost is less of an issue with importance being put on a currently available card(s) and time restraint on needing the car.0 -

Stop living in the dark ages and sign up for it.
If you want to use a credit card to pay your family member you will need a money transfer card.
Use the eligibility checker to see what is available:

You usually pay 3% or 4% fee and the money is sent to your bank account. You can then send your family member a bank transfer and then you pay 0% interest for however long the deal is for, just make sure you pay the minimum payment each month.
Definitely don't go down the eBay/Paypal route, waste of everyone's time and money, is unnecessary and there are fees involved.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Ive assumed getting additional credit is an issue for the OP hence stating that 'a personal loan isnt an option until im established in the job'.
On the basis that they have to use the card they have now, there is two (maybe a few more options). 1. Cash withdrawal or 2. Through paypal. They might have money transfer options available to them depending on the card theyve got.0
