I have recently joined NowTV broadband and now I am out of my cancellation period the broadband speed is terrible. sometimes getting download speed as little as .38mbps. After spending a whole evening waiting to get through to speak to someone I was told that from their end they get over 11 mbps when they check the line. Utter rubbish! After having a very stern conversation and trying my hardest to get put through to a supervisor (never happened), i was told they would send me a new router. If this didnt work they said there is nothing they can do as they say there isnt a problem at there end! I tried to cancel my contract but was told I have to pay the full 12 months. This I cannot afford to do. I am going to be working from home soon and I will be unable to do my work. I am not a techi person, but if anyone can shed any light on what to do, I would be more than grateful.

are you measuring the speed by wifi or connected with cable?
is the device in the same room at the router?
these are things to try0 -
It is possible that NowTV are telling you the truth, that is the line is synching to your router at about 11Mb. You can check that by going into the router home page, if you post the router model someone here will tell you how.
That would mean the signal is going down between the router and your equipment, ie PC, tablet, phone etc.
As Andy has said above how are you connecting to the router.0 -
Try changing the channels on the router, NOW TV customer services will talk you through the procedure. You need a laptop connected to the router using the Ethernet connection.0
