Aw thank you both
i've not finished my planning yet - it's supposed to be £0 :rotfl:
Anyways, it is a target and i was just thinking unless i plan to achieve it how will i get there? And how will i know how i'm doing week by week? i started to think about regular payments and then moved onto extra income etc.
Alot relies on other things - Matched Betting - no Nichelette I've not looked at that site but i will now - i plan to start researching this weekend - i will quadruple check everything
& i've been knocked off kilter by this unpleasantness going on so trying to refocus by posting my Money post.
tahlullah - i will look to you for some tips too1st May 2025

Err... don't look to me for tips! I am really bad at this paying down the mortgage lark! I've been doing it for years and constantly push it back up. But I am determined this time and already with your great forward planning - excel spreadsheet included! - assuming I stick to this 48 month plan, I will have paid £71,500 of my £77,500 debt.
Watching you with bated breath. I have high hopes for your success and therefore mine. Start date 1 August 2019! We can compare notes and spur each other on.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

It's definitely worth a look, they have guides that explain it all and plans which show you how to start with a minimum of £10 and build it up. This is it here: https://www.teamprofit.com/welcome-offers-list
If you get into it their Facebook page is worth a look too as everyone posts offers on there and people really help each other out. It's quite a nice community.

Hello all
I've just popped round a few threads and the lovely savingholmes has inspired me to get on and *declutter* I am committing to emptying 3 bags this weekend - with all items movedHopefully some treasures for selling will be unearthed
Money
A hodgepodge of things as i am so very tired
Where am i up to? Mortgage - i have paid the last bit of the 10% allowed ready to start with a new 10% allowance next month :j:j:j Very pleased with this as for a while this year it didn't look at all possible and of course, once the opportunity has gone, it'is gone.
Surveys - i got screened out of 10 consecutive surveys today - i kid you not - 1 after 10 minutes and with a company where i'd completed over 70% of a survey yesterday when the whole thing just froze  Ah well & i'd been feeling all excited after managing to withdraw a couple of pounds too :rotfl:
food spends what to do? Shall i log spends and then i'll know to the penny what i'm spending? It is something i find difficult to make the time for. i *know* i've spent less the last few weeks as i've completely changed the way i shop. I used to do a huge shop each week without fail - why? Now i get what we need and that is it - save for the yellow stickered bargain - but they're really always on my list if i can get them;) I am also actively trying to use what we have - i say trying it's so hot there hasn't been a lot of eating going on this week. At the moment i am happy to be spending less and will try and maintain this,
Ooh - more good things - posted off some books i sold :T that'll be nice to get a few pounds in and, a biggie for me, i told myself i wouldn't pop into the charity shop after work, but i couldn't help myself, and i said i'd only buy a book if it was fantastic / amazing / wouldn't know how i'd find it again. Anyway, there was book.. and i *really* wanted it but resisted :T A big step for me - i must have over 100 books to read so this is not a need
Ok, i am going to have a cheeky beer  and will hopefully pop back with a more coherent post this weekend1st May 2025

Well I didn't make it back here yesterday after all! i have been reading diaries when i can though
I've been shopping today and instead of buying the 3 things on my list i bought 6 things
1 was yellow stickered of course and i have just eaten itnot sure whether to call it breakfast, lunch or tea as it was the first thing i had today - except for coffee :coffee: so possibly 23p well spent?
1 was cat food which i was aware we needed but didn't think i was going near the shop which sells this - did, hence the additional spend
& a very reduced washing powder, did all my calcs and too good an offer for me to leave so purchased.
Also a necessary spend on petrol
i've been [STRIKE]playing with[/STRIKE] tweaking my spreadsheet
And i promised myself i wouldn't come on here again until I had got the vast part of a very wearisome miss terry shop done (wary of popping up in google searches) it reminded me why i stopped doing them years agoi accepted this from a phone call - never again. I can honestly say it's taken me hours and has not been worth it at all. Still, you live and learn - in future i will only accept things i have had the chance to see truly what is expected beforehand
I have also attempted many more surveys and been screened out of them all - some after quite a bit of time too. They will come i am sure.
Still eating from stores mainly, which is good. i have decluttered a few items :T also goodi persevered with the miss terry - good
ok, written and deleted this next bit several times as i really don't want to 'out' myself. Current head space is being taken up by some family unpleasantnessAny tips on switching my mind to OFF on this would be gratefully received thank you

Good Morning All
Well health wise I am not feeling too great today but attitude wise i am on it! The things we can control eh?
So this morning I've looked for some shops to do, that i'd be willing to for the pay after yesterdays somewhat moany postMind you, anyone doing these jobs will have experienced it and know what i mean :rotfl: Giving myself a B+ for effort and at least i tried :T Auto-declined for some jobs as I have to have completed a certain number for the company before i can do these - good to know for the future.
Mind seems to have worked quite sensibly overnight and decided on a course of action regarding the family unpleasantness thing i posted about. Will see how this goes.1st May 2025

Subscribed so I can follow along and stack up some money saving ideas for when we start our own diary(hopefully very soon if all goes well with getting our mortgage offer)!
Reading everyones diaries is giving me such motivation to save and overpay!Mortgage start: £121,500 Dec 190 -
Good luck with the decluttering. The YS stuff sounds like bargains although I read twice to make sure you weren't eating the cat food lol. I hope things settle down with family. I use aud1bl3 or reading to channel my thoughts and switch off. Focusing on ones about millionaires currently so that's increasing my positivityAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Congrats on your decision on the family. I can't offer any words of wisdom to help put it to the back of the mind. My mother always told me that the only people who can hurt you are family. Over the years, I have learned that she is right. Everyone else, you can screen out. Best of luck on dealing with this. Hopefully it will end the way you want when you want.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.
