    Update July 15th.

    Good afternoon,

Thank you for email. Can you please respond using pages 7 and 8 on the letter.

    Kind Regards,
    Tracey Rogers
    Collections Associate
    Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd[/I]

The first thing I noticed is that they have not numbered any of their pages and in fact have supplied 5 double sided sheets. So no way for me to tell what they want filling in, even though they may be trying to obtain more information from me.
In addition, Interestingly I noticed that DCBL stands for Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd. So do I treat them as a bailiff (Newbies #4) or does their LOC stand (Newbies #2)?

Guess as they cannot reply in a professional manner, you must assume that each double side is 1-2, 3-4 etc

I am sure you know that DCBL are a feature on the TV soap, "can't pay, we'll take it away"

They do class themselves as legals and bailiffs but as your case has not even been to court forget the bailiff garbage.

All you need to do is confirm your new address with proof.
If they ignore that a judge would not be happy.
You NEVER give out an extra information to companies who go to bed with parking scammers.

As an little extra, it will be interesting to see if DCBL try the add-on scam with the court

I can confirm that for future reference my address for service as the former registered keeper is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
    Regards,
    xxxxx
Why on earth are you signing off letters 'Regards' to organisations who are trying to screw you for ~£160, with subliminal threats to send High Court Enforcement Officers to seize your goods.

For goodness sake, keep all this very businesslike - salutation 'Dear Sirs', valediction 'Yours faithfully'.

You're making this far too 'chummy'.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Maybe when I'm losing sleep over it all that will change...
I'm not trying to make friends with them, but at the the same time I don't want to be seen to antagonise them by starting off with Dear Fvckwitts. In the mean time it doesn't bother me.

    I would reply:
    Tracey.

I refer to your email and the answer is no.

The GDPR does not require me to fill in your un-numbered hot-potch of paperwork, and nor should you be signing off as if you are working in a Bailiff capacity, which you are not.

I have told you with a clear unambiguous instruction, to erase my old address under the GDPR. I am aware that I have a legal right to data rectification.

All I require from you is confirmation that you and your clients have amended the data and erased the old address. Should you fail to do so, DCBL will be reported to the Information Commissioner immediately.

Do you understand the implications of me denying the debt but seeking debt advice? If not, I suggest you read the PAP for Debt Claims, or seek independent legal advice because you should now know you cannot process my data for a period of 30 days, save for acting upon my data rectification/erasure notice.

    yours sincerely,

Remind me never to get on the wrong side of you guys. I'm obviously far too sympathetic :D
Hell if you're serious then I'll send that tomorrow.

I'm still mildly confused about DCBL's role in this. What's the consensus? are they able to take people to court, or are they just wannabe bailiffs?

I am serious - and I am not a guy!

That is exactly what I would send, as an ordinary lady who doesn't take any prisoners when it comes to parking scams. There is NO NEED to respect this scum firm.

DCBL have a useless new 'legal' (LOL!) side called 'DCBL Legal'. Are they using that arm, or not?

If it's just DCBL Collections on the letter, then no, they cannot take the matter to court.

This is a copy cat version of the stuff BWLegal sends out and if you read the threads, you will see that BWLegal are getting a beating from the courts and it's going to happen a lot more.

It's all about the fake £60 add-on and this is abuse of process

Hence DCBL has added on a fake amount which they claim as costs

When you rebut this LoC, you ask DCBL for a breakdown of £60 costs. We have seen all sorts of excuses about this, BWLegal for example has become a huge joke and if DCBL continue to try and scam people plus the courts then it's full steam ahead in a witness statement to point a judge to ABUSE OF PROCESS BY DCBL

As they are solicitors you might also consider a complaint to their regulatory body.

    http://www.sra.org.uk/home/home.pagehttp://www.sra.org.uk/home/home.page

and to your MP as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

OK so that is a LBC and could lead to a claim, but DCBL Legal have proved useless so far, similar to BW Legal.

How about a last minute complaint to the managing agents who run that retail park? They could cancel the PCN in minutes.
