Absolute rubbish.
If the OP did not have anything in writing, I would agree that he would not get any redress. However, the OP has it in writing, and can therefore prove that he relied on this information in buying the property.
If you do not have relevant legal knowledge, then your comments are not particularly helpful.
OP- Please come back and let us all know how you got on, i'll wager that you don't stand a cat in hells chance of getting out of your contract (especially on the grounds of DMG's advice).
But good luck0 -
Stop being a wimp, tell us all the stories in the morning.
HI!! Not being a wimp (well a bit! as Squat now will write an considered essay attacking my writings!)..but Hubby just yelled "get off PC come to bed!" told him post subject and he said "you have to relate our experiences....tell him to pull out".....we also lived in the "nil by mouth" film estate (concrete jungle) in sarf london for 3 yrs.:(
Ashamed to say that S in L also caused a lot of probs for her home owning neighbours...my poor hubby had to go over and sort all sorts of stuff out including pacifying the neighbours...did she ever get threatened with eviction?? Never...none of them did.
Will post more tomo0 -
so the overall vote is bad .....any idea how do I get out of it?0

Talk to your solicitor.

Could it be that these built or given planning as affordable housing per se, but that the HA has just bought them on the open market? Maybe because the developer wants his money quick.
Definitely one to speak to the solicitor about anyway.0 -
It could be that the properties are social housing and they are shared ownership for key workers ( nurses police and the like) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Paid the 5% first deposit, not yet exchanged
Best advice was from Poppy- speak to your solicitor, it doesn't sound as though totally committed yet although you may lose your deposit. You would have to decide if it was worth it or not, personally I would never rent because I don't want to be told to leave my home at the whim of Landlords desire and secondly it would never buy on a council estate or an estate where they have "social housing".0
