Enhanced PIP and car tax

My son has just been awarded the enhanced rate of PIP for daily living and mobility. A leaflet with it says I might be able to get free car tax if I use my vehicle only for him. It’s used mostly for him getting him to and from day services, shopping and leisure but obviously it is used on occasion for my own needs. Perhaps I’ve answered my own question but would I still qualify under that scenario? Anyone else done the same? Thanks.

The rules require the car being solely for use by/for the PIP claimant.
https://www.gov.uk/financial-help-disabled/vehicles-and-transportVehicle tax exemption
Eligibility
You can apply for exemption from paying vehicle tax if you get the:
higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
enhanced rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement
Armed Forces Independence Payment
The vehicle must be registered in the disabled person’s name or their nominated driver’s name.
It must only be used for the disabled person’s personal needs. It cannot be used by the nominated driver for their own personal use.
You can only have one vehicle tax exemption at any one time.
I am sure the rules are in many cases breached but it is up to you what you choose to do. I do not know if anyone has been prosecuted for falsely claiming an exemption when a car is used by somebody else.
Does seem that if the car is in your name, rather than his, it is difficult to plausibly say the car is only used for his needs - unless you have another car you use for your own needs, which I infer you do not.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -

Thanks. It is another of these ideas that sounds great but when you look at the criteria I wonder how many people actually can say that is for someone else’s personal and sole use. I can’t say that so will forego this one. I was just pleased that he got the enhanced rates to be honest so I’m not that bothered about it. Many thanks for, your advice. :T0 -
It's much clearer when the car in question is owned by the claimant.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
