Walking out of a restaurant

It isn’t racist at all, simply a statement of fact.0

Well, I think it is poor form from you to be honest... Language barrier or not, I don't think it would have been impossible to get across the question of "where is my food?" to the staff first of all!
Also, for all you know:
- The group could have been a pre-order and the staff were in the process of preparing their order when you walked in. (so you'd end up behind their order but, depending on how the service is carried out, could think that you have been jibbed off)
- The company could have been halfway through cooking your meal when you walked out (possible waste of food).
I find it very tricky when it comes to restaurants, because I personally wouldn't be assed about a 30 min delay (so I don't *get* why you were so upset here)! When I home cook a meal typically takes 20-30mins to make from raw ingredients anyway. So what is reasonable and unreasonable?!
THEORETICALLY, they *might* have scope to chase you for any losses incurred (not theft) but that would never ever happen! Any losses they incurred here will just be written off as waste. In other words, you'll be fine and the meals you ordered are probably in the bin
Next time ask them about the delay before waking out.
The group had booked the table but not pre-ordered as I heard their order being taken; the restaurant was really empty, one big room and it was only us (2 people) and the previous couple who had ordered already.
Usually if the restaurant is really busy, the person taking the order would normally say that there's x minutes wait for food, I think anything above 20 min is too long for the type of food we ordered (2 stir fry) and the venue (£10/dish).
Before leaving and after 25 min wait I made eye contact with the waiter who answered me that he would go and check and 5 minutes later he came back with other people's food instead of an answer, then I decided to confront the manager.
I was assed because my parking ticket was due to expire soon and what was meant to be a quick pit stop turned to be a long waste of time before leaving.
Honestly it's the second time I leave a restaurant abruptly, first time was after eating my meal and asking for my bill, 25 minutes later and still nothing I walked to the restaurant manager to pay.
I think some restaurants are overwhelmed with take out orders from justeat, uber but neglecting customers on site is not a good idea.0 -

I once asked for the bill six times in 40minutes after the meal, and the sixth time I clearly said "if you don't bring me the bill in five minutes I am going to assume there isn't one" - they didn't so I assumed they'd accepted my verbal contract of there not being a bill and I left.(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)0

Once waited an hour and a half in a tex mex restaurant in our local town, I had been sooo looking forward to going there as I had heard they did great ribs and spicy chicken, it was a busy saturday night, and unfortunatly the staff were all fairly new, and simply could not cope with a full house.
The meal was good, when it eventually arrived, and we did get a bucket of bottles of cold beer for free, but we were sat waiting again for the bill, despite asking numerous times, so eventually we walked downstairs, to find someone, no one there, they had all walked out apparently, and the one young lady left there was panicing as she couldnt fathem anything out, so we all got our meals for free, i gave her a £20 tip but I havent been back yet.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. It wasn't a contract. No valid consideration and silence never amounts to acceptance. Conduct can, but it needs to be a positive action (not a lack of action). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
