Basically I was using while abroad in Poland it was so cheap with the exchange rate it made sense.
Most of the little jouneys was rediculously cheap.
But I did one trip which came to over £300 uk (obviously was in Polish when I did it but doing for ease), if I did the same trip in UK it would be this price. But with the exchange rate it should be much cheaper surely. Something has gone wrong as ive gone back and forth with them and they are standing their ground, what are my rights?
When I booked the cab it was £86 I appreciate they have add ons etc but seems crazy.
I also took a normal cab on my last day which came to around £85 and was only a bit shorter. As most of you know Ubers are meant to be cheaper.
I wish I had taken screenshots at the time as what I ended up paying compared to what I thought is a big difference.
It made sense as not all the infastructure is up to our standards and where I had used a train on some of the routes, other parts there was no trains of decent roads.
Thanks in advance

£300? What did they do? Drive you back to the U.K?0

Uber operate surge pricing, which bumps up the price of a trip in busy periods.
I imagine this is what you have encountered.0 -
I don't imagine you have any rights that you can reasonable exercise now that the trip is completed and you paid without questioning it at the time.0

What additional charges are listed on the receipt? Tolls? Cleaning fees?
Does the map of the journey show the most direct route or have they scammed you by taking a much longer one?0 -
If the fare estimate at the time of booking was £86 (PLN equivalent) that would include any surge pricing that was in force at the time, so that doesn't explain why the trip cost £300. Much more information needed from the OP.mattyprice4004 wrote: »Uber operate surge pricing, which bumps up the price of a trip in busy periods.

I guess you've never used Uber. It's entirely possible to dispute charges after the trip if something is incorrect (e.g. tolls sometimes get added in error if you drive near to a toll road) or the driver has tried to scam you in some way (took a longer route, added a cleaning fee for no reason - incredibly common).Aylesbury_Duck wrote: »I don't imagine you have any rights that you can reasonable exercise now that the trip is completed and you paid without questioning it at the time.0 -
I took a trip in Kiev the other night, it was 32UAH there, about 65 back, although where I was there was a one way system and traffic was heavier on the return journey.
Uber isn’t necessarily cheapest option and may or may not be cheaper than a taxi. Some haggling (local language probably required) and we can manage to get a ride much cheaper than any taxi would have been, and only about double the cost of the bus, from someone heading in a similar direction.
Uber is a Private Hire (commonly known as ‘minicab’) company in the UK and illegal in much of Europe as there is not the same regulation of such services as there is in the U.K. This includes Germany where only licensed taxis are used by the company.💙💛 💔0 -
As its Poland would not Polish laws not UK laws apply anyway .0

When we were in Warsaw we got an Uber from airport to city, and it was meant to be about £10 but they charged us more like £70. We disputed it immediately and they reduced it to the correct price. Not sure what happened there, but Uber is really cheap in Poland. We had 30 min trips that were £10. I would dispute it.0

If you log in to your account and review the trip it should have a breakdown of what was charged and a map showing the route taken. You may be able to pinpoint what the problem is.0
