iphone contract bill confusion !

Hi, just got an iphone about 4 days ago and now they,ve e mailed the bill for 3rd dec.
Thought it was best to chose the £35 tariff but cant work out why they charged £31 something and £5 something in vat totalling £36 something.
Does that mean they will be charging me the £35 plus vat every month,which will come to more than £40 :eek: Im just assuming so any help appreciated.Thanks

I had this too, what it is though is that on the day you purchase the phone you are charged for that part day (so say £1) then the following day (the first full day you have the phone) is when the monthly contract (£35) starts. So because of this additional day the first month you will get charged about £36 but so long as you stay within your limits it will be £35 from then onwards.

Thanks,Its such a relief they are not charging vat on top of the £35 was a bit worried.
