Avro tariff not listed
I can't get started with comparing energy suppliers as my current tariff doesn't appear on any of the comparison sites.
I am with Avro Energy on the "Simple and EHL July" tariff.
Any ideas what to do? Can I get it added to the comparison sites? Is there a way of doing comparisons using the standing charges and Kwh charges anywhere?

You don't actually need your present tariff.
For your bills you should be able to calculate your ACTUAL annual consumption and your bill.
Put the consumption into a Comparison site and ignore the savings figure - what you want is the estimate of costs.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

Thanks both. I will give the CAB site a go but I see what you mean Robin9 about ignoring the savings figure - top tip!
My second problem though is that the usage/meter reading history on my online account with Avro only goes back six months. I have mailed them to ask for the full history.0 -

Thanks but I prefer not to go with estimates if it can be avoided. Avro overestimate my usage for every single month but still I am in debit and they have just increased my monthly payment.
Avro will only estimate your bills if you don't provide meter readings.
What is your actual consumption for the last 12 months ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Thanks Robin9. I always provide them with a reading. The readings graph shows their estimate for every future month, and when you submit the actual reading they show it against their estimate (for the most recent month only).
Every single month the reading I supply is less than their estimate. So if the annual estimate they provide on their statements is based on their monthly estimates (it must be), or even on a mixture of my actual billed months plus their estimates for the future months then it will be higher than actual.
I'd upload a screenshot but there is know way of inserting pics on this forum.
Don't know my annual consumption because their data only displays back to Jan this year and I have been with them since August 2018.0 -

That,s 8 months - just multiply by 12 and divide by 8. That's a reasonable estimate
For pictures use a site like IMGUR and make an obvious mistake in the linkNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

However, his actual monthly bills are accurate because Avro use the monthly meter readings that he provides.
He’s been with Avro since Aug’18 and their ‘annual estimated usage’ figures (that I mentioned in post #5) will be just about spot on come the 1st of August; i.e. their estimate will match reality,...unlike their graphs.
Make of that what you will.0 -

That seems the same as my experience. I gave them a pretty accurate estimated yearly usage at the start and the actual usage 9 months in is pretty close to that.
I get that they build in some possibility of usage exceeding initial estimate but for every month since day one to be over estimated considerably is nonsense.0
