Virgin Media new build property

I have recently moved into a new build property, my desire was to get my internet and tv services from Virgin, however I have been unable to do so.
When I enter my postcode on virgins website, all properties in my street appear as available however my house number is missing of the list. I've tried to resolve this using the virgin online chat, however the only answer they can provide me is that they will get someone to contact me in 10 working days..
Has anyone had a similar experience, or have any suggestions on how I can get this sorted?
Thanks

Well if its a new build and the property's not on Virgin's database and they haven't wired this build up to a state where you can just plug the cable in, what do you think going's to happen? A cable's not suddenly going to appear out of thin air!
You may have to wait to see what Virgin come back with as it sounds like they'd need to either do some digging or run their external cable to the rest of the network in the street. It will probably either run under some flowerbeds, attached to a garden wall or something or round the lawn, otherwise its too expensive to dig the lawn/driveway/pavement up for one property. For an entire street it's different.
You could just find a BT provider instead for your internet and use their TV service or have Sky installed?0 -
yeah, address in the list usually means the house isn't connected.
connection can take 6-8weeks (if you nag)
it may even cost you! (3 figures!) but it helps to take 3 services from them from the first 18 months
You need to hold of the local VM rep somehow, to do a survey.
Should be someting you can click on the website to try and kick it off (slowly)0 -
Any reason your home may have been skipped? If the is a cable cover on the path it will just be a data base error.0

As above have a look on the pavement for small cable cover.0
