Plusnet Broadband Offer Problems

I should maybe have joined the forum before making the move but oh well. I'm presently with Virgin Media purely for broadband and phone. I've been with them for just less than a year and have been unhappy with 2 things in particular - 1. being billed on multiple occasions for calls we didn't make to numbers that don't exist and 2. being deluged with scammer calls since moving to them.
So I decided that I'd exercise my right to cancel and gave them 41 days notice of cancellation - it needs to be at least 30 days. That was a task in it's own right but I did so after an MSE mailshot detailing broadband offers. I decided to choose the PlusNet Unlimited Fibre Extra Broadband and Line Rental offer linked through the MSE page. I filled in the correct detail for the 18 month contract including entering a start date to coincide with my VM cancellation date. After completion I received an email confirmation from PN that didn't make sense - showing a payment increase after 12 months. It turns out that despite choosing their 18 month offer their 'system' had signed me up to 12 months - thus not getting the £60 reward card stated. Also instead of the stated(by me) start date 41 days hence to coincide with the VM cessation I've received a text that the PN service will start in 15 days. I've now spent two hours on phone calls trying to get this sorted out - turns out they cannot make changes to a contract until the contract is up and running (or at least that's what I've been told).
So far I'm not too impressed and would just warn anyone thinking of taking out this deal to check you are getting what you think you asked for.
