Virgin cancellation rights - timelines?

I'm aware that because Virgin have stated they're increasing prices I'm able to leave my current contract penalty free.
However what I can't figure out is how soon I'm able to leave, in other words do I have to give them a billing month notice (or similar) or, if I chose, could I say "cancel me as of tomorrow" or similar?
None of the information on the subject covers this element of the cancellation that I can find and I was given a bit of a run-around by Virgin CS today which seriously frustrated me!

Well as far as Im concerned you can leave any time before the date before august.0 -
30 days from receiving the email price rise from VM .
Providing you contact them to cancel usually via the number in the email .
Thats the usual OFCOM ruling .0 -
Thanks for your reply but but it doesn't actually help me
What is 30 days? 30 days I have before I can decide to leave, I understand this fine, but if I call the day of receiving the price increase notification, can I leave the next day? Do I wait until the end of the current billing month? Do I have to give 30 days notice? Can I choose which date to leave (e.g. 7 days from now) or can they impose a leaving date on me?
Hopefully my question is clearer...0 -
It's 30 days from the date you tell them (on the phone) you want to leave.
You will be charged for the 30 days, so you may as well have/use the service.
They do have a habit of turning the TV off before then though!0 -
I've managed to find the answer now, it is 30 days notice of cancellation, which must be given within 30 days of the increase.0
