David Lloyd Incorrect Payments

Hi All
We recently met with the local sales representative at David Lloyd's Port Solent club,to find out the cost to add my partner to my Platinum Membership and were told it would be £68 per month in addition to my subscription which is currently paid via Gymflex so I don't see the actual amount.
When the first Direct Debit was taken we were actually charged £73, and while trying to resolve this with the staff at Port Solent (who have proved less than responsive) the second DD was also taken for £73. I’ve just spoken with the Centre Manager, who explained that while they did indeed quote us £68 per month, they made a mistake in calculating the split of the joint membership fee and should have quoted us £73 instead. While I am sure it was a genuine mistake on their part, we signed on the basis of £68 per month and therefore expect to be charged that amount. Surely their calculation error should not be our problem.
They have gone to great lengths to explain how the error came about but are adamant our contract states a joint amount of £146 per month so that’s what they're charging us (an additional £73), despite admitting they originally quoted us £68. Had they told us the price was “£146 minus the amount you currently pay” I would willingly agree to the additional £5, but that was not the case.
Am I right to keep pursuing this or is it me in the wrong here?
Thanks!
