    Ruined by cruise ship crowds.

Most of the popular cruise ship destinations are ruined by cruise ships. . Awful things.

We’re going to Cavtat on Tuesday and have used this predictor to gauge when it will be less busy to travel to Dubrovnik

    The cable car is open
We’re looking at going to Mostar
There is an island that’s a nature reserve
Hiring a boat for an afternoon.
Venice is an option for you, we’re not as been already.
    Tour of the Walls

If you're only going to Mostar on a day trip, then the Old Town will be absolutely overrun by tour groups between 1000-1600.

Outside of those hours it's a very pleasant place to be. Plus there's a lot more to Mostar than the Old Town.

If you do visit, then wear some stout footwear, the Old Town area has lots of cobble stones underfoot, and getting up and over the Bridge can be challenging.

We were looking to go to Dubrovnik this September for our anniversary, but after quite a bit of research and looking for decent accommodation we sadly chose elsewhere as the prices have gone sky high due to the Game of Thrones popularity at the moment.

Now we both love GoT, and that was even part of the reason we considered the destination, however it seems that lots of fans are willing to pay far more for the experience than we are.

It looks like a wonderful city though and I would love to visit it in a good few years once the current mania has died down.

    Hey Vacheron,
We were thinking of going to Dubrovnik this Aug/Sept - COVID19 permitting of course.
I was wondering, in view of GoT's very disappointing final season, will the mania have died down?  I was thinking of taking a chance and booking soon in the hope the current crisis will have passed by then.  Good idea?
    Any and all advice appreciated.
    Elston.
