Hello guys

I just moved to new place using electric boiler 'Tristor' from Telford Copper Cylinders LTD.

I am really terrible at dealing with the machine unlike you guys.

So, I want to take a shower with hot water, but.... I am not being able to ...

'Electrisaver E30' on the Tristor has 3 boost bottons (1/2 hour, 1 hour, 2hours).

Do I need to press this botton whenever I use the hot water?

Please let me know how to use hot water with this machine.

I want to take a shower with hot water, please save me.

Thank you all.

    Hi,
    And welcome

    Is it one of these

    http://horstmann.securemeters.com/files/4714/7011/7674/Electrisaver-User__Installation_Guide1.pdf

User manual at bottom of the above link says pressing boost once gives 30mins, twice 60mins etc and it should indicate the time selected with the little red LEDS. So if you press it twice the 60min red LED should illuminate

If so it may be case of trial and error to see how long you need to boost to achieve that desired shower... :)

Is hot water ready when I press this?

There should always be some residual heat retained in the cylinder, but as I say try it on for 30mins before you try and shower and see what the water temps like :)

Okay, I will try to always turn up half an hour.
    Thanks!

Your Tristor cylinder should have two immersion elements. The boost switch will be connected to the top immersion element as a backup if all of the hot water has been used but it will use standard rate electricity.

The bottom immersion element should be connected to an Economy 7 supply and will get charged overnight using cheap rate electricity.

You should not normally need to use the boost switch, so check that the E7 is heating overnight.

You are describing the boost buttons - isn't the tank supplied at off peak so you start off the day with a tank of hot water. Is there another switch elsewhere ?

The purpose of the boost is to give a top up when you start to run out of hot water not to just heat the water you want.

Thank you for your mentions. You want me to press the booster switch only when I'm done with water? You mean hot water comes out even if you don't press it?

There's no other switch. It's just time. Is it meant that these times are the times it takes to boil water. When the water ran out, you said I need to press the booster, but is there any way how to know when the water ran out?

There's no way of telling on any hot water system until it starts to run luke warm then cold.
