Dreaded BT Openreach (and useless Vodafone)

Long story short:
Internet went down at the end of April. Some issue with a port outside our house.
Now in July, still no broadband. Last date we had for a fix was 27th June. According to Vodafone, it looks like BT Openreach did nothing on this date and just gave themselves 25th July as the next 'fix' date.
Vodafone have done nothing during this time. I must have called them about 30 times or more for updates and what not. They didn't even bother finding out what BT had done on their last visit or why it was going to be another month.
What can I do myself to get this fixed? I can't get compensation from Vodafone as they're not part of the voluntary scheme. They've said I can cancel my contract penalty free, but there aren't any deals as cheap as the one I'm on with them, and I can't see the point in leaving if it's not going to get anything fixed sooner.
We just want working Internet but according to Vodafone its tough luck.

OpenReach do not deal with the public all you can do is chase your ISP .
I would go down the complaints route.0 -
Vodafone have a complaints page with a complaints telephone number and a complaints email address
https://www.vodafone.co.uk/help-and-information/complaints?cid=ppc-care-Brand-Complaint-Core-Exact
You may have already figured that out.
They generally it helps when complaining to think what you would accept that they are likely to be prepared to give you.
For instance perhaps a complimentary mifi box to tide you over if your signal is strong enough?
Or perhaps that you should not have to pay for the month you had no service?
Good luck.0 -
Don't get Vodafone signal at home, so just want the Internet fixed. Obviously haven't been paying for the service while it's been down, but that has no value to us either - it's only a piddly £20 a month.
Already have an ongoing complaint. Their complaints department are a joke. Have never called me back, don't even try to offer a resolution, don't have any information available when they call me, etc.
Can I not complaint to ofcom or someone? Who are Openreach accountable to?0 -
Do you have strong three data signal?
Get a £25 smarty sim and grab a 'three' mifi for £12 from CEX as temporary measure.
Then cancel the vodafone, make a complain and ask for extra money to compensate for inconvenience.
Finally, if it is a problem with opensearch, you may sign up to virgin?
Or sign up to ISP with those auto compensation scheme and let them deal with opensearch0 -
Complain to Ofcom yes after i believe 8 weeks from an official Complaint to your ISP .0

I don't use Vf but optional scheme regardless I'd be expecting to get something out of them with such a long fault. making a big noise on twitter etc might attract attention from someone up the food chain0
