Default on CR but Barclaycard Increase Limit?
Comments

When you log into your account online, on the left there is a set of different options.
If you click on 'Account Actions', then it give you another set of options and a 'request new credit limit' is one of them.
You might be better off phoning up and speking to someone though as they should be able to tell you how high a limit you can go up to.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks ti1980, the option is definitely not there for me perhaps it's because it's an Initial card. hehe.I know nothing0

True the Initial, Student, Graduate do not have all the options, as the Classic, Gold and Platinum, which have all the options. :beer:0 -
ti1980 wrote:I have a default on my record which unfortunately I can't get removed cos it was all my own fault but I have a Barclaycard which was originally given a £1200 limit.
what type of Barclaycard do you have? Classic, Gold or Platinum, with what APR???0 -
I have the Classic card with an APR of 18.9%.
Empfun - phone them up and see what they say. Be sure to let us all know.0 -
ti1980, I phoned them today, they said call back next month which is about the 6 month mark I've had the card. Excellent, so there's a possibility of an increase next month after just having the automatic one a couple of days back. Yay!
Really have to go guerilla with Barclaycard credit limits since they're very low by default in comparison with other credit providers.
By the way, I take it Initial card validity periods are very short, do they move you onto a new card automatically when it expires or does one have to apply again.I know nothing0 -
Good luck with it empfun.
I don't know about the Initial card as I have the classic card but aren't they practically the same?0 -
Ti, What did you tell them ur salary was? Ive been currently paid
April = £681
May = £688
June = £688
And in july in going to pay £690, (my Credit limit is £700) so in 4 months i will have paid about £2700, and im going to ask for a total limit of £2000, thats a increase of £1300 after paying £2700. what do you think?
also do you bank with barclays?
p.s whats ur Cash APR, it was 23.4% but i check my statement, and its now 20.0%, strange but true ( I also have a classic card )0 -
I told them my salary is £15k.
I don't bank with Barclays now and never have done in the past.
On my statement it says my Cash APR is 28.4% and my purchase APR is 18.8 (thought it was 18.9%, lol)0 -
