BW Legal letter of claim

Hi,
I received a Parking Charge Notice from Total Parking Solutions in January, when I stayed 45 minutes over on a car park. I have no defence to contest the fine, I simply lost track of time. But when looking for advice online and after speaking to several friends, the overwhelming advice was to ignore it, and that it wasn't enforceable.
I then started to get letters, and more recently, text messages off BW Legal. They sent me a letter of claim threatening to take me to court and give me a CCJ. Again, I have been advised by a friend who works in the finance sector and is familiar with BW Legal, to ignore it, as it would cost them more to take me to court, and give me a CCJ than any amount they would recover off me. As it currently stands, I owe them £125, but if I don't pay by 20th July, it will rise to £200 and they will then take me to court.
I really don't want a CCJ on my file, but I also don't want to pay this if I don't have to, and if it is a scam as some people have suggested. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks 😊

The BWLegal rubbish again.
Your financial pal is wrong to say ignore. I would not want financial advice from him. But in fairness to your friend, we only see BWLegal behave badly in the private parking industry. How do they conduct themselves in the financial industry ??
They do go to court even though they keep getting whooped by judges.
They are adding fake charges. They lie and only a court can give you a CCJ .... typical BWLegal scary rubbish.
BLOCK THE PHONE SCAMMER
It is however very clear now that BWLegal are actually hoping they will get a judge who they consider to be a mug, that is what they are doing mugging the courts.
BUT ever since a ruling recently, BWLegal are skating on very thin ice. Read about it and carefully read all the posts on the thread

You and your friend should carefully read the NEWBIES thread (one click back, third thread down).
You will then have a clearer idea of the game you have entered.
If you go to court and lose it will cost £175 - £200, if you win it costs nothing and you can claim limited costs of your own.0
