as Slash added a tip to the total,

It's a tip - service included pays the wages which are appalling generally - a tip is a thank you for good service - leave the tip for the staff - it was obviously included deliberately.

If it were me and its awkward to pay his mates back, I would drop the extra in the nearest charity box

I would have left it as a tip.

Rambo - your morals stink! What goes around comes around, I hope yours comes soon.....

He should put it in his wallet, exchange it for Euro's so he can get some free fun next time he is Hoorin' in the Dam!

They're all friends right? They'll be going out again? Axl should let them know and put the money aside for the next time they go out. It'll buy everyone the first drink (at least) of the evening. No problem. He should let them know though, just in case anyone objects (but I'd be amazed if anyone did).

I used to go out in a big group with colleagues from the last place I worked. This sort of thing was always happening. If we had left over money we put it in the coffee kitty at work, so there was always 'free' coffee, tea and (if there was lots of money) biccies for everyone.
  • I would definatly keep it.

He's got to tell his mates - what if they found out afterwards.
Not worth giving everyone £4 back each, though.
Email everyone and suggest you put it on something at, say, 9/1 at the bookies (say a correct score of a football match). If you loose then there's no money to give back. If you win then there's £40 each to give back - which is worth the effort of.

That's what I did when left with the kity from a work's do. Needless to say we lost!
  • Axle should pay back his mates, but as it will be a hassle, I think he should keep the money and pay for the first round of drinks next time they are all out.
  • Axl should certainly contact his friends and give them the option of getting their money back, the point is - it's their money. That's what friends do.

As for 'Rambo', lowlife scum is too positive an attribute; to proudly admit you took someones money and spent it without a thought for the person beggers belief. I firmly believe what goes around comes around. It really saddens me that people like you, with your 'values' exist.
  • Axl should send each of his mates a text letting them know what has happened. He should let them know that there is £20 in the kitty ready for the next time they go out if that is ok with them - I would guarantee that no-one would say no. He should of course then set the £20 aside and not forget that he has it!
