Sold item but no address on Paypal?

Hi all,

I sold an item on Ebay, normally the address shows up on the order details on Ebay and I compare it with the address on Paypal as I know to always send to the PP address.

But today, the buyer asked if I could send to work address, I said I can only send to registered Paypal address. Send message to say they have chosen to do click and collect and have paid but when I went to check on PP, there is no address or anything showing? Only on Ebay is the Argos address showing?

What should I do? Should I be worried by no address showing on PP? Am I covered if I send to the Argos address? I've never had a click and collect sale before.

You send to the address eBay have given you, ensuring the click & collect code is on the parcel.

You are covered for seller protection, assuming you are sending with a proof of delivery.

Thanks, how do I find the click and collect code? As the address is an Argos one. There is an eCP number in amongst the address, is that it? or is it the order number?

Sorry just never had this before. It doesn't say to send to click and collect Argos or anything but it that how C and C transactions normally look?

The ecp number is the Argos code. Just print the label exactly as it shows , do not deviate from the format at all. Once it reaches Argos they generate another code that they send to buyer to collect.

Thanks, I don't have a printer so is it okay just to write it on the parcel just as it shows on Ebay?

As long as you copy it exactly it should be fine.

Funny - I just have a Buyer using BIN to an Argos number - but Paypal dosent state whether its an eligible address or not

BTW Buyer has 0 feedback - probably because he joined Ebay 4 July 2019!

Bit unsure whether to send it or not - its only £15 but I dont think Ive ever sent an item to anyone if its not a PP verified address
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)
  • That was what I thought too and why I was worried as I've never had it before and I always thought it had to go to a paypal eligible address. My buyer is a relative newbie at only 3 feedback so I was even more worried. Especially when she asked if I could make sure it was wrapped well because her last parcel got broken when the deliverer threw it into her garden.

We've not had to use a verified PayPal address for years, for full PayPal protection you just need it to say 'OK to send'.

On the PayPal transaction what does it say about seller protection and what exactly does the transaction show- literally nothing except the payment?

It looks the same as usual but there is no name or address for the buyer as normally shows to send to and it doesn't say anything about seller protection. It's only possible to get the address (which doesn't show a name to send to, just an Argos store but from what's being said maybe the name doesn't matter as the ecp number will cover that).
