One cannot but notice that the OP has not rejoined the debate. He/she is probably at the world dwarf chucking championships.

Give them a chance! But, I suspect they won't

    OP. Should you return

I am not going to add anything to what the others have said re the poor behaviour of PPCs.

I would say, though, that there would be no need or call for PPCs if it wasn't for poor, selfish parking in the first place. Very few stores/gyms/estates would consider parking controls if there wasn't a problem. Whether PPCs are the answer is another debate

If you think that parking is bad here Neil you should visit my erstwhile home on the Costa Blanca.

One simple answer that no one seems to have addressed regarding PCNs is they are totally avoidable if you read the signs and either accept and comply with the terms and conditions or leave. If you choose to ignore or not read the signs then you must take responsibility for your actions

HAHA, be brave and tell us which parking scammer you work for ?

lol my mum just had an ECP PCN come through 2 days ago.

She explained to me that she entered the car park, had to pay by phone in which the phone options were not working properly so after reading the T&C and attempting to pay with no avail, she decided to leave the car park. ECP are now chasing her for £100 PCN.

Luckily I am no longer naive nor an easy target for these scammers anymore, and with the support of this forum I have not paid a parking ticket to date and dont plan on ever paying a penny to these scammers for the rest of my life.

Apparently them 10 minutes looking at the signs trying to pay on the phone and then deciding to leave constitutes a breach of contract

Only if a judge says so, and he/she is most unlikely so to do.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

To pay by (RingGo) you have to open an account and then download the application before you can pay. Unlikely to be able to do this in 10 mins.

Another way to avoid parking charges: Place bin bags over the ANPR camera(s)

Place bin bags over your number plate - a tactic favoured and oft quoted by Coupon-mad.
