Hi
My father has just gone in to care - he is a self funder at the moment (House on Market) and Im going to try for the full rate of Attendance Allowance from basic and also Ive heard of 2 other possible very difficult to attain benefits called CHC and FNC Care benefits. Im totally confused by them but feel its worth a crack to get them -any idea who we contact for help?? and also should we be getting the help of a social worker now he is in care - its like a blind leading the blind at the moment any help would be appreciated.

If he receives CHC funding then his AA will stop 29 days after the funding starts. The reason he continues to receive his AA now is because he's self funding.Hi

Your other thread here. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6019250/attendance-allowance
FNC explained here but he would have needed to be assessed before he went into the care home. https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/nhs-nursing-care-contribution0
