And the mesh idea I found through Dr. Google - but good point.
40 (now closer to 50 I've swatted) is a bit much for one flat, don't you agree? I only get the occasional fly making its way in through the windows.

They won't stay, especially if there's not much food for them. Just let them disperse off into wherever they go. They'll be gone by tomorrow.

We have a very spidery flat and sometimes have seen a female with an egg sac or babies, but the overall number of spiders never seems to increase so most of the little ones must go somewhere else.

To things like reincarnation, I take a "just in case, like" kind of approach so flies, spiders, wasps etc are gently but firmly encouraged to leave the premises.

They'll be food for the survivors...

I know it's the wrong time of year for this to be particularly helpful, but..
When we moved into our house, we noticed the previous owners had left loads of conkers on the floor by the internal door between the house and the garage. I thought it seemed a bit random and was going to chuck them out, but several family members told me that they act as a spider repellent. I assumed that meant there was a spider problem at some point in the past, so I left them there, and I've barely seen any spiders in 6 months of living here.
    Wedding savings Jan 19: £1.4k. Sept 19: £7.5k. Mar 20: £12.6k

They do a great job as a rhinosceros repellent, too.

Spray something into the vent? Anything handy in the bathroom? Deodorant? Air freshener? (No, I know it's not very eco-friendly, but there you are).

It's not something I would bother my landlord with. He'd probably think I was winding him up.
