Spiders indoors?

Is a bit random for this subforum, so apologies, but couldn't figure out where else it fit best.

How to deal with a bunch of tiny spiders emerging from an external wall vent (near to the ceiling) in my toilet?

I figure their mum might have laid a bunch of eggs in there which have now hatched, I've swatted maybe 30 of the little things so far and they seem to be reducing in number (hopefully).

If I wake up to a toilet full of them by the hundreds/thousands tomorrow I'll probably just give the landlord a shout (and insist they install a mesh over the vent!) but what's good for spraying inside the vent that I can get from a large Sainsbury's?

How fine a mesh do you think would be needed to prevent "tiny" spiders coming through? And what effect do you think that'd have on airflow through the vent?

Anyway, what's wrong with spiders? They eat flies.

If you were a homeowner, rather than a tenant, what would you be doing?

Fire, and lots of it :rotfl:
And the mesh idea I found through Dr. Google - but good point.
40 (now closer to 50 I've swatted) is a bit much for one flat, don't you agree? I only get the occasional fly making its way in through the windows.

    Sainsburys? Raid.

Open the window before using and shut the door for an hour after spraying. you don't want to be breathing it.

I swallowed 3 flies while cutting hedges at the weekend, so this might help. The Spiders, not their bits.

My moggies, before they went to moggie heaven.

Where brilliant at spider caching, woke up one night to find both of them with paws on my bald head trying to eat a spider...

Found a dismembered daddy long legs on my pillow in the morning.

The myth that we swallow spiders whilst we sleep was specifically created as an example of the absurd things people will believe simply because they come across them on the internet and it became a self-fulfilling prophesy. Spiders do, however, rub their willies on your face at every given opportunity.

Thank you so much AdrianC and StumpyPumpy for making me burst out laughing twice while reading. After a fairly stressful week, it's exactly what I needed. :rotfl:

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Just leave the little darlings to grow a bit. They will soon scuttle off outside to spin their webs and feed on all those nasty, irritating flying bugs. Think about it - How would you feel if some hulking great monster swatted your offspring ?
