cheapest broadband/tv package?

hi, i'm soon moving into a flat which already has sky fitted with broadband and extra channels. i can either keep this, cancel it or reduce to it to the basic 16/month.
i definitely want broadband and basic tv channels but not worried about phone calls as i have a mobile.
is the basic sky 16/month package the cheapest i will find? i'm not sure if this requires any line rental from bt? anyone know?
i know there is ntl cable fitted from a previous owner so i could use that if the deals better. virgin media as its now called?
