Is it possible to install a banking app on a laptop?
I downloaded bluestacks app player to laptop and then tried to install Barclays app. It seemed to install ok but does not open correctly.
Any other app players worth a try???

Guessing that bank apps will only run on the paltforms they're coded for - for security reasons if nothing else.0

You could try the android sdk emulator, I guess.

Probably aimed more at app developers though. (I use it to run whatsapp since my aged and rooted phone won't. Just because I already had it from when I used to do some android development.)
I guess another option would be to dual-boot your laptop, and run android direcltly.

or maybe run it in a virtual environment

To start a switch, its only available through the Barclays App! Or visit a branch.Neil_Jones wrote: »Would it not be far easier just to log into Barclays via the website and a browser?0 -
I was scoffing when I read that, clearly rubbish I thought, no bank would be stupid enough to put up such pointless barriers to new customers. To start a switch, its only available through the Barclays App! Or visit a branch.
Ummm

I'd be finding a different bank personally, others might be more tolerant

Well would it not have been beneficial to say that in your opening post as to why you want to do such a thing? Then I wouldn't have come back with the reply I did. I'm sorry my psychic powers are a bit below par today...0 -

Not really! I asked a specific question........and received mostly specific answers.0 -

Have you tried any of them? As I understand things, unless you can precisely emulate a non-rooted Android environment on a PC then pretty much no banking app is going to work.
Hence the comment was valid - it was a key piece of information you omitted.

In the time spent trying to install apps, posting on here then trying to implement any suggestions, going into a branch may be the easier option. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
