Mazda failing to issue Safety Recall Notifications?

There are v well documented issues with the.Mazda diesels..petrols are generally v robust with maintenance.
I generally find that whilst the likes of Whatcar and other mainstream car publications are fairly useful they don't always highlight key known issues which you may find on the car forum discussuons from actual drivers.0 -
You will only be contacted for a recall if the affected part is likely to cause serious injury or death. Neither of those recalls fit this category.
I can't see that is true, otherwise they wouldn't be listed in the database as a Safety Recall. If that was the case then why would they do a software update on one safety recall yet not do the work on the fuel injectors that is clearly connected to that issue?
Mazda sent us a Saftey Recall Notification (R/2018/288).
"The Software controlling the fuel injectors does not control the electric current correctly. This may cause the injector control circuit to short circuit and cause the engine to stall. Results in possible Engine Stall without Warning". Remedy: "Vehicles affected will have the injector control software re-programmed".
(We had the software update).
They did not send us Safety Recall Notification (R/2018/289) although it is listed as a Safety Recall on the Database which DVSA provide a link to.
"The tightening force of the injector mounting nuts may be insufficient. This could cause combustion gas to leak from the injector and contaminate the engine oil within the cylinder head. This in turn could cause the engine oil strainer to become blocked. This could cause the engine to stall. Engine Pressure Oil Light appears along with the engine malfunction indicator. Possible Engine Stall without Warning.Vehicles affected will have the engine / oil checked for contamination and replaced if necessary. The Fuel injectors will also be re-tightened to the appropriate torque".
It seems a bit stupid to me that Mazda they sent one Safety Recall Notification which has the cheap remedy of re-programming the software running the fuel injectors yet don't send one that is very clearly connected so they have the expense of checking our engine/oil or retightening our fuel injectors.
I'd suggest everyone checks the Safety Recall Database to make sure your vehicle's manufacturing isn't being economical with which ones they notify you about and fix.0 -

Drip, drip of relevant info is not helpful.
Arnold Clark are Mazda dealers.
Have they done all your services, or has the car at any point not been serviced by a Mazda dealer?
We bought it from Arnold Clark Mazda but the service invoices just say Arnold Clark so I wasn't sure if they were still Mazda dealers or not.0 -

When was the Mazda service done?
If you bought a car from Arnold Shark and never took it to a Mazda dealer how would Mazda know you owned the car to recall it?0 -

If you're anywhere near Stourbridge, though, there's none near you - the only one that isn't in Scotland is Liverpool. Aberdeen, Glasgow, Kirkcaldy, Stirling are the others.0 -

Arnold Clark must have registered the vehicle with Mazda in my husband's name as Mazda UK have the delivery service inspection carried out by Arnold Clark when we bought it on the Digital Service Record.
Do manufacturers not also obtain owner's names and addresses from DVSA for recalls? (Actually maybe not as they have sent recalls to us for our old Mazda 6 petrol vehicle and DVSA won't have that in our name as V5C was completed to transfer it to salvage company).
It would be interesting to know where they do get ownership details from.
Why Arnold Shark? Do they have a bad reputation?0 -
Arnold Shark is a big national chain. In that chain, there are five Mazda franchises.

Our vehicle was registered to Arnold Clark Mazda, Toxteth, Liverpool although we bought it from Arnold Clark Automobiles Ltd, Stoke-on-Trent. That is why I wasn't sure whether Arnold Clark services were classed as a Mazda dealership. Evidently they are not.0 -

Arnold Clark have a Vauxhall dealership, and a multi-brand "motorstore" in Stoke, not a Mazda dealership. The Mazda dealer in Stoke is Holdcroft - https://www.holdcroft-mazda.co.uk/0
