As above, one side rear brake light bulb needs replacing but physically can’t rotate it in the holder, it’s a bayonet fitting, standard rear bulb. It presses down in the sprung loaded bulb holder enough for the lugs to disengage, but physically can’t rotate it?
Any pointers? (Other then a gym membership) 😂

Make, model and year?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

Can you wrap it with a few layers of duct tape to give some grip?0

unplug the cluster. break the glass off and pliers onto the bulb base if all else fails0

From this post it looks like an old Audi, bulb probably seized in the socket.

First use a rubber glove or similar. If the glass comes away or smashes that's fine - it allows you to get a pair of pliers to the body of the lamp that remains.
Or just buy a replacement lamp cluster - depending on the make/model it may not cost much.0 -
Spray of plusgas. Wipe the bulb off, then have another try, with added jiggle and wiggle.0

Sorry everyone, didn’t think the make/model would matter, but yes it’s a 2003 AUDI A4
Will try with a pair of gardening gloves and if it breaks, get a set of pliers on it
Damn thing...... thanks all0 -
As has been said ..........
Put the straw of the PlusGas/WD40 down the side of the bulb first and give a little squirt first.0 -

I would recommend making sure that the battery is disconnected first.
PlusGas is highly flammable and it's not a good idea to be spraying it in areas where there is the possibility of a spark.
Even if the brake lights aren't getting power, there may be other things (such as alarm sensors) close by that may still be live.0
