This situation is at the tipping point of seriously disrupting our lives, and so many people are still in out and out denial or it's just not on their radar, as they already have a million and one other things to worry about. I'm so hoping that people will get the message and start to make changes. I really do hope that in a few months time everyone can tell me, "see, there really was nothing to worry about"
Contingency planning in the NHS for older / elderly patients with serious conditions relating to the virus is that they will effectively either recover or die. There's insufficient capability to cope with a major outbreak.
Up to each of us individually to assess how much risk we should expose others to.
I am amazed at the complacency of the general population. I was volunteering at a community shop today. Within 30 minutes of arriving a young mum accompanied by a constantly coughing tot showed-up. The wee mite was only encouraged to cough into her sleeve after I raised my eyebrows.
YM (sheep-faced): "She's too young to understand."
Indeed so (thought I) so why the hell are you taking her out-and-about? No thought whatsoever of the danger the poor, little thing posed to others. Chances of her dying if that was Covid-19 = 0%. Chances of my dad dying if I passed it on to him = 20%.
Impact of the virus on my life is already dramatic.

Lovely 6M run, even if it did start raining...counting my blessings to still be able to feel the rain on my face!!
Out of curiosity, I ran past our big Tesco Extra, which doesn't open until 10am, and at 9am there were already some queuing at the door! Not sure what time doors open v. checkout open, maybe 9.30.

Also risk that this virus could fade away and then come back1

I was at Asda around midday and apart from the usual loo roll, hand wash and pasta, everything looked normal. I also went to the corner shop for the paper and all their curly and tapeworm pasta was gone but there was plenty spaghetti and lasagne sheets.0

Been following Dr John Campbell on Youtube re Covid 19. His videos are really informative and straight talking. Like many people concerned that the Government hasn’t introduced prevention measures yet.The food shops by me have been mad busy. Though not so the other shops.Money SPENDING Expert1

Lovely walk along the canal this morning, did about 6 miles. So quiet, just the birds and the odd boat put-putting past.
We've just scoffed pizza washed down with a cold beer.
Making the most of these simple pleasures...until you turn on the news!!

When shopping on Friday for me & Saturday for someone else I found it surprising that fresh stuff & even frozen was absolutely no problem at all, but toilet rolls (what is it about toilet rolls?) tinned stuff, pasta, rice & flour - no where in sight. No shortage of tinned omega 3 type fish, so no-one going the healthy route then!

To be fair though, if people are going to try to live on nothing but rice and pasta, they're going to need all the toilet roll!
