Weeds make very good liquid fertiliser.kimwp said:
Same. I didn't get round to signing up and then started pondering which weeds could be composted - turns out nearly all, some with some steps to take first to kill them. Considering weeds are really good at extracting nutrients from the ground, I've basically been throwing away good compost all these years.barnstar2077 said:
Mine was until this year. One day your local council will realise what an untapped gold mine it is and they will come for you too!westv said:Garden waste is collected for free round here.
Mine is set to reduce a bit next year, but it still hurts. Especially having to pay it all up front. I wonder if they pay the binmen's wages for the year in advance too...1 -
Right...I'm off to re-bury my nuts in the garden. I may be some time!!

I can't find the thread that was talking about the potential ambiguous "gap" between taking pension at 55, and then the age moving to 57 whilst one is still 56.
Can anyone find it and link it for me. thanks. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

At the risk of the wrath of "No politics", I will be keeping a very keen eye on the newly announced Pension Schemes Bill.
Please no speculation at this stage...lets wait for the "small print", but one to keep your eyes on folks!

Surprise Pension Schemes Bill announced in King's Speech | reaction from pensions' experts - IFA Magazine
I wouldn't worry about it too much, the industry seems to think its just continuation of current proposals and policy of the previous government.
When Labour actually do their promised Pensions review (which hasn't been announced in this bill) then there may be things in that review to be concerned about.2
