Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."3 -

Nice little Christmas Bonus today...DH had his back tax, for the current tax year, refunded via his drawdown payment.
I knew it was due and would come out in the wash eventually, and it matched my figures to the penny.
His tax code has now been amended, and so should now be paid gross going forward. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)7 -
As a prelude to the money update side of things, what's life been doing this year...
Not much, tbh. Nothing "major" has occurred. No "hatches, matches or dispatches". No family big birthdays either.
No big projects undertaken. No big buys either.
6 short break holidays (27 nights total)
Plenty of running and swimming 😁

Looking forward to your money update/round up. Have found I enjoy the twix season where mse comes alive with end of year round ups and challenges for following year. Mine is brewing but as we are retiring within next six months will be focussed on that.1

Well, we've done our last shop of the year, so 2023 spends are now "closed".
£16,060
And that includes the thick end of £1000 for physio, prescriptions and dental. The joys of getting older 😲😱
