We're having smart water meters fitted today, which will give half hourly readings available via our on line account.

We're already on a meter (read annual by them) but this will give more data to obsess over!!!

    😎
Don't forget the Bright app too.

We already have in IHD to obsess over gas and electric!!

This is a smart WATER meter!   I don't think you get an IHD for it....as they haven't dropped one off.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

Won't you get a little monitor gismo? We got one when they came to fit ours (electricity only, because the gas meter was too far away to communicate). We can see instantaneous useages (red, orange, green) and hourly / daily etc costs (until it goes offline, which it does frequently :D.
    Theirs is a water meter

Our water meter is somewhere in the road, and the company read it every 6 months - a smart meter with a gismo that gave the readings in the house would be good.

We don't get a gizmo, but we can download their app (Anglian Water) which I think will give you the 30 min readings/usage data, or log on to your on line account.

Their letter says that this should be updating within 3 weeks, and they'll email to confirm, but looking at our account, they have already entered the closing read and 00000 for the new one.

We've already been trying to cut usage and have got our daily consumption down from an average of 0.20m³ to 0.15m³ 😎

Ours is also in the road, and I think it's only read once a year.

Our water/sewerage bill used to be = to £45 a month.  The new meter was fitted, and a month later our bill for 8 cubic meters was under £30 guesstimated, a saving of £15.  I grovelled around and the actual reading was 9 m3, so another £3 for the month.
I've been wasting £12 a month for 30 odd years it seems.

ours also went down when we got the meter. Big house with not many people so rateable value logic was not good for us.
