Best thing about not working for me is that I don't have a routine. If I want to stay in bed reading until afternoon I can. If I want to get up early(ish) I can. I usually go for a walk some time during the day (and am now doing 2,000+ steps a day). If I choose to eat out I can - usually mid afternoon to get a table.

Are you married or in a long term relationship?!? 😉
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)

Do you mean 20 000 steps? I can do 2000 steps just round the house!

Had my 2nd AZ jab yesterday morning: zero issues, which is good!
Boiler? Those old ones might be inefficient, but they can keep on going: good luck!
When we changed a few years ago from a 30yr old working boiler to a new combi one I was really pleased with the convenience, plus the running costs reduced by almost 50% - so definitely much more efficient.

I wouldn't be able to get away with it if I were.

So I would suggest that its the "being single" rather than the "not working" that lets you do as you please all day.     ;)

We are adults and we should be able to please ourselves, but it's not always that easy in a relationship!

I live with "Mr Rush"*... so lazing about being generally slothful, is out of the question....well at least until after lunch!!!

    * Mr Rush is one of the classics of the Mr Men series IMO.  (he's the purple triangle one!)

Mr Rush is very unwise, as a sharp edged triangle he could really hurt someone if he bumped into them!

Interesting, had 2nd as jab 3 weeks ago had headache and shivers for 36 hrs.

We are also getting a new boiler as current one is 23 years old. Not sure what a decent price would be, 2500?
    We paid £2,100 in April.
