Disassociation financially but still happily married

Hi all,
Today we went see a mortgage advisor at a high street bank to see about a first time mortgage. The mortgage was going to be solely in my husbands name as I have a poor credit rating. My husbands credit score is very high and he has no missed payments or outstanding debt issues. Now comes the bad bit..... he got rejected and the mortgage advisor believes it due to him being linked to me. We used to have joint bank accounts but they have been closed years ago and the only other account is a savings account which we paid in wedding gifts but that’s now empty but still open.
I’ve read about disassociation agreements so he’s not linked to me but a lot of thread are from years back or people separating.
Can this be done when staying married?
TIA

Both you and your husband separately need to check with all 3 below:
Experian: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/creditclub
Equifax: https://www.clearscore.com
TransUnion (formerly Call Credit): https://www.creditkarma.co.uk
Are you shown as a financial associate on any of them?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You can file for them with the CRA's yes but it will take a few weeks or maybe even a couple of months.
Ignore any scores or ratings the CRA's give you as lenders do not use them.0 -
Thanks for replies.
To do this is there a universal form to submit or is it different each website?

You'll need to contact each CRA individually.0
