If your measurements are correct and the confirmation says recess then it sounds like their error and they should put it right.

Thanks, I've had no further reply so will see what they say tomorrow.

These instructions you measure the recess and they will make them to these measurements,

They have made them to the measurements you have given as stated above.

There are two sorts of blind - the one that fits in the recess and one that goes outside. If the op wanted recessed ones then it says that she should measure the space and NOT make any adjustments herself.

Obviously we can't see the form that the op filled in when she ordered the blinds. I might make a dummy order and see if it's clear what you have to do. I have made many curtains in the past, so I understand what they are asking for. It may not be so obvious to someone who hasn't done this before.

I've started a dummy order and it does have an option for recess OR outside recess. You have to pick one, so as long as the op clicked on the right option then it is a mistake by the supplier (or a measuring mistake by the op). I'm assuming the op has double checked her information.

Are these fabric blinds? Surely, if you don't have a sewing machine, you know someone who does.

    It's sew easy . . . ;)

Even easier if like mine they are glued. Had to replace a few hangers over the years and they come apart quite easily.

Chloe Slate Grey - Moisture Resistant Vertical Blind
    Measurement
    mm
    Width
    2120 mm
    Height
    2070 mm
    Control Position
    Controls - Left
    Fitting
Recess - fit your blind inside the window
    Stack/Bunch Options
    Left
    Brackets Supplied
    Top Fix

A copy of my order. If a recess blind is made to fit INSIDE the window, then by definition is HAS to be smaller than the window and not the exact size. You CANNOT place something that is the one size inside something else of exactly the same size.

I measured my windows in 3 places as stated, it was the same all along.

If it is made to the exact size, it would be a nightmare as ANY mm discrepancies along the width of the window would be telling, you do not measure the drop across the whole width.

I paid for blinds to FIT a window of 2070mm drop, not for blinds to be that size.

I have ordered from this company before, and those blinds sit 10mm from the window sill even though I provided the exact window measurements, meaning they have made deductions on 2 out of 3 blinds ordered.

    And it's he ;)

Their mistake then and they should put it right without any cost to you.

Apologies for the apparent assumption on your gender. I nearly wrote he/she and obviously should have taken the time to do that.

Not a problem, no offence taken :)

They haven't got back to me today, I'll give them till a bit later and then chase them up.

I just realised the 2070mm measurement I gave them in my query email was NOT including the hook at the top, so that's about about 4-5mm on top of that, so they are clearly too big.
