Ryanair Plus service heads up!

Ryanair advertise three levels of travel on their flights; Standard, Plus and Flexi Plus.
With the Plus ticket, they state that priority boarding and two cabin bags are included in the price.
I recently booked a return flight to Spain and it came to my attention that, although I had purchased Plus tickets in both directions, the return journey did not include priority boarding and two cabin bags. In fact our boarding passes did not even show Plus on the return journey, as they did on the outward one.
I filed a complaint with Ryanair to be told that priority boarding and two cabin bags was not guaranteed when purchasing the Plus ticket and their policy was to not issue a refund in the event that the Plus service could not be provided; something that was not communicated at the time of booking!
By sheer chance whilst waiting to check in for the return journey, I overheard someone commenting on the same issue. I asked him if the same had happened to him, which he confirmed.
How many people are paying and have been paying extra for the superior Plus service and not getting it?
And how much is Ryanair making by not making refunds on these instances?
Buying a Plus ticket should not be a lottery.
Apparently the ombudsman I found who was supposedly to aid with airline disputes, only deals with energy and communication companies now.

I highly doubt this is correct. Is is possible you booked Plus on the outbound flight only by mistake? What does your booking confirmation say?0 -
Ryanair and service are a contradiction in terms - allegedly !!!0

I really don’t think that they are that bad. They are a low cost airline which typically offers great fares, customers just need to have measured expectations. Lemonade prices does not give you champagne.0 -

There was a large party from Ireland in the same hotel who had flown with Ryanair on a DIY holiday.
They were stranded on the day of their scheduled return flight and O'Leary came on international TV news channels declaring Ryanair had no responsibity and effectively washing his hands of any duty of care etc.
Meanwhile Thomas Cook and Thomsons (as was) did an excellent job of looking after clients and organising return flights.
There are many "horror stories" about Ryanair's customer service - this is just one of them.0 -

Dear Mr Ball,
I refer to your recent correspondence dated 13-06-2019.
I regret to inform you that as our priority service is limited therefore we cannot grantee that it will be available.
In accordance with Ryanair's General Conditions of Carriage all monies paid are non-refundable, therefore we are not in a position to process a refund of the Leisure Plus fee paid on your return flight FR 5947.
OK?0 -

Those Thomas Cook and Thomson passengers would have been on package holidays. At the time the tour operator was responsible for providing welfare and all seem to do so very well.0 -

Unlike Ryanair who felt no obligation to assist stranded passengers.
O'Leary had to come back on mainline TV news channels later in the day and backtrack on his previous comments - obviously his legal people had advised him that Ryanair were not absolved of all aspects of duty of care in the prevailing circumstances.0 -
'The following services are included in Plus fares.
One 20kg item of checked-in luggage
A reserved standard seat
Priority & 2 Cabin Bags'
Did you receive any part of the plus service?
Edit - Is there a great deal of benefit from the Priority & 2 Cabin Bags if you're already having to check in and collect a case? Not saying you shouldn't get it if it's included in the Plus fare but what is the benefit?0 -

I only bought Plus for the two cabin bags, but had to have the other items, as they were part of the deal.
However, I have just found out how to achieve that without buying a Plus fare.
So,I won't be conned again.0 -
