Can I get a new customer deals with old email?

Last year after having a year off as a client I have tried to take out a broadband with Talk Talk, through cashback website.
Upon being transferred to the TalkTalk website I could not use my email to apply for the broadband as their system was saying that there is already an account registered with my email address. They were most likely referring to my old account.
I was of course not happy to ring them and signed up via phone as this would mean losing all substantial perks for signing up online.
Has anyone got an idea if this issue is now permanent and if I will also face this issue if I am to go back to BT after now having a year off with them as well?

No idea what the answer is to your question but of course the obvious solution is to set up a new email account which takes moments.0 -
I doubt Talktalk are unique with that problem.0
