If they are not considered a danger on an aircraft then surely they won't be confiscated ?

I don't see what the issue is.

I flew out to France with hand luggage only, through Gatwick on Tuesday, returned last night..

I shaved with a disposable razor on Wed; the same type which has accompanied me in hand lugage on my last 50 trips...

which I never even thought to ask about...

I have twice had hand luggage checked on arrival at the gate when flying Virgin Atlantic out of Gatwick. Was about 10 years ago though, not sure if they still do it.
